Starting a Food Business

Are you thinking about turning grandma’s jelly recipe, your killer BBQ sauce, or your garden produce into a new business venture? Would you like to sell them at community events, get them on a grocery store shelf or even open up your own storefront? If you are, consider attending this class and learn:

  •  rules and regulations for setting up a licensed kitchen
  • •food safety and good manufacturing practices
  • •labeling, container, weight and measurement requirements
  • steps and resources for starting a small business

Location: Johnson County Administration Bldg, Suite 211, 111 S Cherry, Olathe, KS (held in conjunction with the Entrepreneurial Expo)

Instructors: Fadi Aramouni, K-State Specialist, Steve Moris, Division of Food Safety – Kansas Department of Agriculture, and a panel of experts.
